Spatial plans for valuable village centers

OMGEVING is assisting municipalities in the planning and procedure of zoning plans. In recent months, various spatial plans (RUPs) have been finalized, including plans for village centers. Thus, RUP Rijmenam-Center protects the small-scale and authenticity of this Dijle-adjacent village center with cultural and historical value. At the same time, a well-considered compaction takes place with quality impulses in image-determining locations. In this way, the village remains genuine and future oriented.

A few kilometers away, the Imelda hospital is located, an important facility of the municipality of Bonheiden. The RUP Imelda, considering a mobility impact report (MOBER), offers limited expansion opportunities for the hospital. A large green area, destined for residential areas, is now protected as a park area. Also for RUP Woonbos in Kalmthout, the priority is to better protect the remaining open space.

All plans aim to strongly anchor the valuable heritage and to stimulate sustainable mobility. OMGEVING is currently working hard on spatial plans for other Flemish villages: RUP Bonheiden-Center, RUP Branst, RUP Boomstraat in Bornem and the revision of RUP Mol-Center.
