The land-art project ‘Vistas’ has been selected as one of the 16 art projects from 211 entries from 35 different countries in the context of Contrei Live, a large-scale art trail with artistic interventions at the intersection of art, design, architecture and landscape which will be organized in 2020 by the intercommunal association Leiedal. OMGEVING’s proposal on the site ‘Stadsgroen Ghellinck’ in Kortrijk is based on a temporary landscape intervention that literally engraves the most important ‘vistas’ or historical sightlines in the former agricultural landscape. With its temporary character, the intervention aims to put nature management in the spotlight and by adding white natural lines, literally and figuratively highlight the historical patterns within the landscape. During the art trail the sightlines are perfectly white, after a while the lines in the landscape will be absorbed by the vegetation. The realisation of the temporary art intervention is planned for July 2020 on the opening day of the arts festival. Click here for more information about Contrei Live.
