OMGEVING + De Urbanisten have been selected to work together on the ‘nerves across the Ring’ in the city of Antwerp. The ‘nerves’ make the future Ringparks easily accessible. For our design team, a nerve is successful when cyclists and pedestrians massively choose for these routes because they are safe, functional, pleasant and easy to reach. Using a nerve becomes a pleasant habit.
In this assignment we use our broad experience that was gained during the ‘De Grote Verbinding’ project, where we prepared the realization of Ringpark West and the preliminary design for Ringpark Het Schijn with great enthusiasm. Our approach is alternative and action-oriented, because the realization of these nerves needs to happen now!
