We are extremely proud that our competition proposal, in collaboration with De Urbanisten, for the redevelopment of the Wapper in the city centre of Antwerp has been selected as the winner.
In November 2022, the City of Antwerp organised a design competition for the redevelopment of the Wapper. Five design bureaus were selected to create a vision with a sketch design. During a continuous public participation moment on 14 November 2022, up to 200 Antwerp citizens came to discover the anonymous designs. The input from this participation moment formed the basis for the questions to the candidates during the jury, where OMGEVING and De Urbanisten were selected as the winning team.
The concept design is scheduled for the summer of 2023 and a new public participation moment for the citizens of Antwerp will follow in September 2023. We look forward to cooperating further with the City of Antwerp.
