The campus for higher education in Gent has undergone extensive changes in the last decade, and further developments are even expected over the next few years. This has spurred the HOGENT to create a sustainable vision for its largest campus that will act as a framework for its future growth.
A thorough analysis revealed that a spatial restructuring is required. With the introduction of a number of sturdy paths, this master plan has provided the required spatial framework for future developments. These new spatial carriers provide the access, define future-oriented, flexible building zones and allow for green areas to penetrate the campus.
An exhaustive design study includes an understanding of the building volumes for this master plan, which must fit within the flexible building zones when matching yet-unknown requirements and trends.
