Temporary association RCR Aranda Pigem Vilalta S.P / COUSSÉE & GORIS architects bvba appointed OMGEVING as subcontractor to technically design the environmental works around the new crematorium in Holsbeek. The site around the crematorium is around 5 ha in size.
The outside layout includes a car park, a spreading field and various urn fields and columbarium walls. Large embankments screen the site from the nearby regional road. An orchard and a large expanse of water with aquatic plants create a subdued atmosphere. In consultation with the architects, materials were proposed and paving and details designed to fit seamlessly into the building.
